- How do I rent a GPU?
- Sign up (you get ₹200 free credit, no card needed), open Browse GPUs, pick a machine and click Rent. You get a browser link to JupyterLab in about a minute — no SSH key or setup required.
- What does it cost, and how am I billed?
- Per second, in rupees, at the rate shown on the card — nothing else. No setup fee, no egress charge, no minimum. Billing stops the moment you stop the instance. See Pricing.
- What can I actually run?
- PyTorch/CUDA notebooks, Stable Diffusion (ComfyUI) and open LLMs are available as one-click templates today. Or bring your own — you get a real GPU, a terminal and a file browser. Full list on Workloads.
- My instance won't start, or I can't reach it
- First check your wallet has credit — a rental auto-stops at zero balance. If the host went offline mid-rental we stop the instance and you are not billed for the offline period. Try renting a different host; if it keeps failing, email us with the instance ID.
- Is my work private on someone else's machine?
- Your job runs in an isolated container, and on hosts showing the Secure badge it runs under a separate-kernel sandbox. Being straight with you: a host machine's owner has physical access to their hardware, so don’t put regulated or highly sensitive data on consumer hosts. Use the sandboxed hosts for anything sensitive.
- How do I add money?
- Wallet → Add money → pay by UPI, card or netbanking. Credit lands immediately. If money left your account but the balance didn’t update within a few minutes, email us with the payment reference — do not pay twice.
Hosting your GPU
- What do I need to host?
- A Windows or Linux PC with an NVIDIA GPU (8 GB+ VRAM), a recent driver, and normal home broadband. No static IP and no port forwarding — the agent connects outward, like a game client.
- How much will I earn?
- You keep 80% of what the renter pays; GHive takes 20%. Your exact per-hour rate is shown on your host dashboard. You’re paid only for time your GPU is actually rented, and power is only consumed then too.
- Setup is stuck at 0%, or the installer failed
- Almost always the Control URL. Paste exactly https://ghive.co.in — not a page under it. If a previous attempt failed, fully quit the GHive Host app from the tray (not just the window) before retrying, then run setup again. Still stuck? Send us the setup log the app names in the error.
- My host is running but doesn't appear on the marketplace
- Open your host dashboard — if a GPU isn’t rentable it now tells you exactly why and how to fix it. The usual causes are: no container engine running, the agent not heartbeating, or hosting paused.
- How and when do I get paid?
- Add your payout details (name, PAN, UPI) on your host dashboard — we need PAN to pay you legally. Earnings accumulate there and we transfer by UPI. During the beta payouts are made manually, so email us if you’d like one released.
- Is it safe to let strangers use my PC?
- Renters never touch your desktop. Jobs run inside a locked container, and only GPU images we build and control are allowed to run — a renter can’t execute arbitrary software on your OS, read your files, or use your network identity. You can pause hosting with one click any time.
- Can I still use my PC while hosting?
- Yes, but a rental uses your GPU, so games and heavy GPU work will be slow while someone is renting. Hit Stop hosting before you game — it takes effect within seconds and never interrupts you mid-session unpredictably.
