Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
In short: Rent compute for legitimate work — ML, research, rendering, simulation. Don't use it to attack others, break the law, or harm Host machines. Violations lead to suspension or termination and, where required, reports to authorities.
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses GHive. It is part of the Terms of Service. We may update it as new abuse patterns emerge.
1. Prohibited activities
You must not use the Platform, or any rented compute, to:
- Develop, host, or distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, rootkits, botnets, or command-and-control infrastructure.
- Gain unauthorised access to any system, network or account (hacking, intrusion, exploitation), or scan/penetration-test systems you do not own or have written authorisation to test.
- Crack, brute-force, or harvest credentials, passwords, keys, tokens, hashes, or CAPTCHAs.
- Operate phishing, spoofing, fraud, or social-engineering infrastructure.
- Launch denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS), flooding, amplification, or other network-abuse attacks.
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messaging, or distribute content in violation of anti-spam laws.
- Infringe intellectual property — including training on, generating, storing or distributing material that violates copyright, trademark, or trade-secret rights.
- Produce or distribute illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that incites violence or terrorism, or content illegal in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Generate non-consensual, deceptive, or harmful synthetic media (e.g. deepfakes for fraud, impersonation, or abuse).
- Mine cryptocurrency or run blockchain proof-of-work where prohibited by your plan or by the Host; such use may be restricted or blocked.
- Damage, tamper with, surveil, persist on, or escape the isolation of a Host machine, or interfere with other tenants, the relay, or the control plane.
- Circumvent metering, billing, rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions.
2. Host responsibilities
- Only list machines you own or are authorised to rent out.
- Do not access, copy, read, or interfere with Renter workloads or data.
- Do not misrepresent hardware or manipulate benchmarks/availability.
- Keep your machine secure, lawful, and adequately powered/cooled.
3. Lawful & authorised security testing
Legitimate security research and penetration testing are permitted only against systems you own or for which you hold explicit written authorisation, and never in a way that harms third parties or the Platform. You are responsible for staying within the law.
4. Enforcement
When we believe this AUP has been violated, we may, at our discretion and without prior notice:
- Throttle, suspend, or terminate Instances or accounts;
- Withhold funds connected to the violation;
- Preserve and disclose information to law enforcement or affected parties where required or appropriate;
- Take any action needed to protect users, Hosts, third parties, and the Platform.
Serious violations (e.g. CSAM, active attacks) may be reported to authorities immediately. Account holders remain responsible for activity conducted through their accounts.
5. Reporting abuse
